Offer a bit of food and you can't fail to attract starlings.
We think of them as greedy garrulous creatures but in fact they are
beautiful in their winter plumage. Many thousands join us in
Britain from the continent each winter. Although they are
numerous in my garden unfortunately this is not always the case and
their numbers are well down.
Just look at this lot having a bath at the end of the day.
And they are great opportunist feeders as well. You name it
they will eat it often at the expense of other birds who are
intimidated.
